Floor boards creaked as I lifted the gem
From it’s resting place from way back when
I pulled the long bow over the sinew
Heard a voice and the letter continued

The final verse in our harmony
Your lumberjack fell to the frozen ground

I hear a sweet, and distant melody
One that always calls to me
Through the ragged pines my soul awoke
Bringing me home by the Corduroy Road

As the words rang out they kindled inside
For a lumberjack and his Acadian bride

That held our hearts while we broke the ground
We made a home out of timber and sound
